Miss Travel McTravelson ~ Olympia, Greece

After our "all inclusive" experience, we got back in our tiny little Fiat and drove all the way to Olympia.

This is the place where the birth of the Olympics happened. The Olympics happened every 4 years starting in 776BC and they were to honor Zeus. :)
The original site is so amazing.

It's an unbelievable feeling to stand right in the middle of the huge arena.
So quiet - peaceful.
The wind blowing in your hair, it felt like the first open area I had been in EVER. (which is not the case obviously!)

The ancient ruins and so cool to see and touch.
Some stuff you could tell exactly what it was supposed to be,
some looked like rocks. Hahaha!

The town of Olympia itself is very small and really only has two major roads.
We stayed at a quaint boutique hotel with a fabulous pool up the hill.
Amazing view!

The lady who ran the hotel was so sweet!!!
There was no laundry anywhere in town and the hotel didn't have laundry either. She did all our laundry for us in her own home washing machine!!!!
So sweet of her!

On our last day we bought her this beautiful flower as a 'thank you" gift for being so kind to us!

Love that lady!

Cheers,
Messy

DIY ~ Princess Crown

I was browsing through my favorite blogs on Bloglovin', and went to comment on a post on Violet's Blog when I saw her DIY post on this crown!!!
Paddy and I had a crazy hat party a couple weeks ago and I thought it would be great to have as an extra! I'm sure glad I had 3 or 4 extras cause we needed them! Suckas!
All you need to make this crown is pipecleaners.
It's just that easy!

FIRST, take two pipecleaners and twist one end of each together flat.
Repeat on the opposite ends to make a circle.

SECOND, take two more pipecleaners and twist one end of each into a point.
Attach that center front to make your main peak.

THIRD, make more mini peaks out of one pipecleaner folded in half.
Attach to the band as well.

Ta da!
Crown complete-o!

Isn't it cute???

Here's a picture of my friends Laurelle and Raegan!
R loved the crown! ha!
Perfect for our Crazy Hat Party!!!

Cheers,
Messy

30 Days of Truths {Day 19}

Day 19: WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT RELIGION AND POLITICS?

RELIGION = I think it's a little weird.(Sorry). This is mostly because I have never had good experiences with it. Some people need a higher power to believe in so they have someone to blame stuff on. Good or Bad. "Oh, God made me get this wonderful fabulous job because he loves me." Ummm...no. Your new boss loved you so he hired you. I think the singing, fainting, dancing part of church is very entertaining. LOL I don't judge people for being religious or believing in God. It's just not my thing.

POLITICS = I used to want to get really into politics so I could vote and make a difference. But once I did I realized two things.
a) My measly little one vote really won't sway who's gonna win.
b) no matter who you pick, they will never be good enough and never do what they say they are going to do.
So, now, I just ignore politics.
Terrible I know.

30 Days of Truths {Day 18}

Day 18: YOUR VIEWS ON GAY MARRIAGE
Well,
why do straight people have the choice to choose who they want to marry, but gay people don't?
Who died and made the government/bible boss and said they could make people's
life decisions for them?
I don't understand what is WRONG with gay people getting hitched?
Isn't love, love? All the same?

As you can tell...I am 100% for gay marriage.
I think we should all be able to share  our lives with someone we want to.
No matter if they are male, female or alien.

We all deserve to be happy and be loved.

30 Days of Truths {Day 17}

Day 17: A BOOK YOU HAVE READ THAT HAS CHANGED YOUR VIEW ON SOMETHING.

The Natashas: The New Global Sex Trade

Many years ago I read this book called The Natashas, By Victor Malarek.
It's about the global problem of human trafficing.
I never realised how involved Canada is and how much we support it.
I remember there being a "rub and tug" down the street from my first house in Calgary.
I would glare, scoff and be disgusted everytime I walked by it.
I wouldn't do that now.
How do we stop this?
Why are men  using this survice?
Why is it so in demand?
It's scary, gross and makes me dislike our country a little.
It needs to stop.
NOW.

Check out this blog for more info.

Investigate this issue, it's extremely unfortunate that the world doesn't know more about it and isn't doing more to stop it.

Outfit Post ~ I Feel Taller Already

I have seen all the teens at dance with these super cute sweatshirts and have wanted one forever.
I kinda thought maybe at the soon to be ripe ol' age of 30 I was a little too old to pull it off...
Then I though - WHO CARES!!!!

Look Ma!!!! Imma giraffe!!!! :)
Isn't it the cutest sweatshirt ever???
The ears are perfect! Hahahaha!
I got it at Sirens Warehouse in the Thousand Islands Mall.

Even Chuck Norris loves it!

Day 16: SOMETHING YOU COULD LIVE WITHOUT.

I have discovered that there are alot of things I could totally live without.
I've actually managed to get it down to a 8 x 5 Uhaul trailer size.
Yes, I have downsized a 3 bedroom home into a tiny tiny itty bitty little trailer.
Not by choice, to save money of course. LOL

Should I start a whole new blog?

30 Days of Truths {Day 15}

DAY 15: Something/someone you couldn’t live without, ’cause you’ve tried living without it.

Well, I would say Kassie again because I can't live with out her. But since I used her for a different day in this truths game I will pick something I can't live without.
Chapstick.
Yup. Doesn't matter if it's a good one or a crap one.
I always need chapstick.
Summer, winter, spring and fall.
I need chapstick.

30 Days of Truths {Day 14}

Day 14:  A HERO THAT HAS LET YOU DOWN.
This is a hard one because I don't think I have a hero.
Is that weird?!?
I know I should say a grandparent or something...but I just don't know.
Hero.
Who's your hero?
Sorry folks. I don't know what to say here.

30 Days of Truths {Day 13}

Dear Gabrielle:

Ever since 2001 and driving around Australia with my Irish girls, I have been a huge fan. Everytime I need to get over a boy I crack open your CD and listen to you in the car.I belt out the lyrics to every song since I know them all through and through. You words are bang on, you know exactly how I feel and you always makes me feel better.

Thanks for being one of my besties.
You've always helped immensely!!!

Thanks Pretty Lady! You mean the world tome.
I am sure I will be bringing out your CD again soon!!! :)

I had to go to Carelton Place, ON and it was a beautiful day for a drive.

I got a new curling iron when I was out with my new friend Teesha last weekend and gave it a test drive.
Not bad, but I think I have a bit too blunt of a cut and need more layers for it to look pretty.

Shoes: Falling apart Paris Shoes
Jeans: GAP
Sweater: Ricki's
Necklace: Market in Italy
Sunnies: Ardene

What a beautiful day in the neighborhood. :)

30 Days of Truths {Day 12}

Day 12: SOMETHING YOU NEVER GET COMPLIMENTS ON.

My weight/figure. I get comments. Some good, some bad. But never a compliment. It's usually some sort of comment like "Well, you don't even have to watch your weight" or "You don't have to worry about shopping EVERYTHING looks good on size 0".
This is not true.
I have very long legs and arms and in short sleeve things I look lenky. Plus, sometimes I look boney and showing cleavage looks gross. Being skinny isn't all it's cracked up to be. I spend most my life trying to gain weight so I look okay. It's just as hard as losing weight and soooooo frusterating. My Doctor is just as concerned about me being underweight as they would be about someone who is overweight. I know lots of you are rolling your eyes right now and that's fine. I'm just sayin' it like it is.

DIY ~ Socktopus

I saw this great little idea on pinterest a while ago and thought I'd give it a try.
He turned out sooooooo adorable!
I love him, and I have named him Ned.

YOU WILL NEED:
- thin sock in any wonderful design, color or pattern you wish.
- small piece of colored felt.
- two buttons
- needle and thread
- stuffing

STEP 1: Take a small amout of stuffing and ball it up, stuffing it in the end of the sock.
Work it until it becomes round like a head.
Clenching the sock tight at the bottom.

STEP 2: Using your needle and thread go throughthe closing and wrap it around tight to make it bunch closed.

STEP 3: Cut two circles of felt and place them under the buttons to make eyes.
Sew on opposite sides of the head.

STEP 4: Cut up the sock from the bottom to make the legs.
Make sure to cut only 8 legs!!! :)

Isn't he sooooo cute???

I want to sell him in my shop but he is sooooo cute.
Loves him.

Messy
