SATURDAY
It was the dance studio's year end recital...

SUNDAY

We had a party with all our neighbors and I made the best ribs ever!

MONDAY (DAY OFF FOR ME YAY!)
We drove around the Thousand Islands region, went for lunch on the patio in Gananoque and found this sign!!!!

Letters...

Dear My Oldest Friend:
I love you. I miss you. I think about you everyday.  Why can't my life be more exciting so I can call you with news everyday? Why can't I find time for that? I'm sorry about your father. Everything will be ok. I promise. I wish I could give you the biggest hug I have ever given you.
Dear Sunshine:
Let's be friends. Can you come out and play today?

Dear Dad:
Your stupid. But I still love you for sitting very uncomfortably on a plane tomorrow to come see me. I can't wait.

Dear Dancing:
I have enjoyed our first few months together. But I am excited for you to be over on Saturday for the summer. I need a break. It's not you, it's me. Sorry.

Dear Haribo Gummi Bears:
Why are you so gross in Canada? Why can't you be marvelous morsels of delicious explosive flavors in my mouth like you were in Europe last summer?

Good talk everyone.

Don't forget about my blog candy! Anyone can enter...HERE.
Cheers,
S.

FAVES ~ Freckles, Freckles and MORE Freckles...

Blogging is something I never thought I would do. Girlfriends have talked about it over the years and I kinda laughed at them (on the inside of course). I have always not liked the Internet because ANYONE, ANYWHERE can find out ANYTHING they want about you. That's disturbing to me. But, after the YFH (year from hell - also known as 2010) I needed cleansing and needed to make more time for myself. We moved and that's when I decided I needed to hole heartedly do the things I am passionate about - for myself. I have been experimenting with all sorts of different craft mediums. Of course right now it's blogging, cardmaking and painting. Plus gardening is creeping into the top 3 fairly fast here. Once I had so many cool things, I needed to share them since I didn't know anyone in my new town. Thus came Shelley's Craft Room.
I have figured out that with my blog there are so many other types of blogs out there. Who knew there was a sea of people out there that love vintage finds, flea markets and up cycling like I do?!? Who knew and didn't tell me?!? LOL I stumbled upon a BEAUTIFUL blog and BEAUTIFUL person in my new blogging adventures.
Her name is Kyla Roma. Now I don't know Kyla, nor does she know me...but I bet if I did know her...we'd be besties. HA! (If she ever reads this I'm sure she'd be a little creeped out right now!) Her blog is AMAZING!!!! It has everything I could ever dream of. Beautiful images, cool ideas...AWESOME links. She finds/has/gets the most awesome vintage finds around. She can make anything look beautiful. The clothing ideas on her website are to die for...that's what I wanna look like in wish for life, not frumpy and dishovelled like I do in my real life. LOL I just love her ideas! Kyla is part of a group of kids called Freckled Nest Design.
These are some cool ladies. So talented and each one unique. If you need a blog custom designed, going by their blogs - they can rock it! Check them out!!!!

Anyways, that's my Faves #2 for ya...Enjoy!

Cheers,
S.

DIY ~ Refreshed Hutch

We have managed to get lots done around the house lately and when I say “we” I mean Paddy. LOL It rained all weekend so there was no yard work to be done. But we banged out some stuff inside. Paddy put the new kitchen faucet on (so much better) and installed 2 or 3 of the new light fixtures we bought.
I also re-did this cabinet I found in the deep dark dungeon we call a basement. It was  gross and Paddy pulled it out and cleaned it for me. Then it got a good couple coats of fresh white paint and we put up some cool wallpaper as the back part of the shelves. It turned out WAY better than I expected!!! It’s great because I needed somewhere to put my wine glasses and beer mugs! Plus I have some really nice dishware that goes well in it! I’m so proud of my DIY’s!

It now very nicely sits in our dining room and looks perfect!

Cheers,
S.

DIY ~ Bathroom Booyah!

We gutted our bathroom! Everything except the shower! We had a few friends over on Friday night and discovered that everyone was using out MOST disgusting bathroom downstairs!!!! It was mortifying...so after spending 3 hours in the yard cleaning it all up on Saturday we decided to gut the bathroom.

Here is the before:
I wasn't smart enough to get a full blown before shot...but this is my Paddy starting to gut it. It was a terrible baby s*it brown and it probably hadn't been cleaned in 10 years! I tried to bleach it down when we moved in...but it didn't do much!!!

I picked the paint color with approval from Pat, and we got a new faucet, all new towel racks, tp holder, hooks, a beautiful new light, (there was 3 in one tiny bathroom!) and a new ceiling fan! What a difference!!!

Here's the after:
Amazing right?!? I know we are pretty talented if I do say so myself. LOL The mirror I picked up a couple weeks ago from a flea market. It is plastic and was painted a terrible goldy/brass color. I spray painted it white with a high gloss finish and ta-da...a beautiful masterpiece!!! I'm so proud of myself! ha!
