Restaurant Review ~ The Lazy Loon

Ok, I didn't eat but I did look at the elderly couples food and it looked amazeballs.
I went purely for a strawberry milkshake.
I had heard from my friend Karen that they had the best in town.

The Lazy Loon is a new "chip wagon" here in town. (Brockville, Ontario)
It arrived two weekends ago when we had our big Tall Ships Celebration.

One of the owners is from a Pub here in town and he runs a great ship, so it's worth a try in my books!
Here's the menu:

My strawberry milkshake was perfect.
Just that right blend of creamy and thick.
It was even made with real strawberries! :)

They are located in a parking lot off Wall Street.
They have built themselves a little patio/deck area that looks over the river!
Very pretty!
I hope they get some chairs out there...hint hint!

Basically it's a big trailer filled with great customer service, big meals and strawberry milkshakes to die for.
Next up - I'm tryin' me a Broad Street Bully!

Double fistin' - I'm a class act!

Cheers,

Restaurant Review ~ Santa Fe Grill

santafe
My friend J and I decided to go for a little day drink last week to celebrate our birthdays!
We stopped into Santa Fe in Brockville and had a delicious lunch.

I had the chicken caesar wrap and J had the vegetarian spring rolls.
Both were equally delicious and their french fries were so crispy and fresh!
We also downed a couple raspberry magaritas with mixed reviews.
Good amount of alcohol but the bitterness of the raspberry slush was so sour it stung our throats!
All in all, great lunch.
Santa Fe is known for the fajitas too, so go check them out!
Yum!

Restaurant Review {sorta} ~ Beavertails

It is a HUGE Canadian winter tradition to have Beavertails.
It's even more of a tradition in Ottawa where you are supposed to go skating on the canal and get one.

The canal has been closed alot lately.
It's been so warm here.
We have tried a couple times, but it's still closed :(
But we still got Beavertails :)

Beavertails are a large piece of dough that is deep friend then topped with your choice of different toppings.
Theere is Oreo, Cinnamon and Sugar and Chocolate and Banana.

I always go for plain cinnamon and sugar.
So yummy...
to die for.
I bought 5.
I shared one with Paddy.

All in all,
THE BEST BEAVERTAILS EVER!!!

Cheers,
Messy

Restaurant Review ~ Zak's

New segment here!
YAY!

I am going to start doing restaurant reviews since we go out so much.

Today's review is for Zak's Diner in Ottawa, ON

Zak's Diner
Super cute little old school diner.
Clean and tables aren't too close together.
Lots of booths but still extremely busy.

Food came out in great time and was delicious.
I had eggs benny with bacon instead of ham.
Cooked to perfection :)

My Paddy had eggs, bacon, toast, etc. and ate er right up! :)

I did not take pictures of the food.
I forgot.
Stupid, I know. LOL

All in all, delicious!
I would give it
8 STARS
(outtta 10)

\They get points off for their bathrooms being gross and hard to get to. LOL

Good Job Zak's!
Head on down to Byward Market in Ottawa to check out this breakfast joint!

Cheers,

Date Night: Corn Chip Edition

Last night My Paddy and I decided to go on a full out date.
We rarely do this, but have recently decided we are going to make a conscious effort to do.

{SIDE NOTE: On Facebook I have a Pretty Lady named Chelsea Henkle that I have known since highschool. She is an amazing, pure and good hearted person. So kind, thoughtful and inspirational. She has always been this way since the day I met her in grade school and her whole family is the same. Chelsea writes the most uplifting, spiritual, brave, positive incouragement on life in general all the time in her updates. Sometimes I read them at just the right moment. Especially right now with how low I have been. It's been some serious dark days lately and Chelsea just always seems so happy and content with life. I wanna be like that. Anyways...Chelsea and her Hubby do the cutest videos on their date nights and they are so fun!!! This is where I decided I need to go on date nights :)}

Soooo...
I decided (since it was my turn to plan first) that I would take My Paddy to his favorite restaurant...
He loves their fajitas and talks about them all the time.
I love the FREE chips and salsa! Ole! heehee

I drove us to Kingston and found rockstar parking...all in the snow BTW.
We got a great table and we could both sit on one side where the comfy booth seat was and people watch.
Paddy had a Corona Rite...well two actually, and I had a mug'o Strawberry Daquiri!!!

We shared the combo platter and scarffed down fajitas like they were gonna be taken away if we didn't.

After, we decided we didn't want the fun to end there so we headed up to a pub on Princess Street called Toucan's.
Great Rum & Coke's there. ;)
We played some serious darts, and I have to say I should be a professional.
Ok maybe not, but we played 3 games and I beat My Paddy once.
That's not terrible.
I love playing darts!

Great night all around, we needed this. :)

Cheers,
Messy

PS: I really need to get better at camera photos. {sigh}
