Goodbye Furry Friend.

It's been a rough weekend at this house. But last night topped it off for me.

My ex from Calgary called to tell me that our cat had gotten cancer in his stomach and bowels and he had to put him down last night. I guess his stomach had been growing for a week and he just thought Reno was eating too much food or something. He was too far along when he took him to the vet last night, and the doctor said it would be best just to let him go.

This is sad because of many reasons. I have always felt very guilty about leaving Reno in Calgary with my ex. But when we left we had put all our belongings in storage and was heading to Europe for 2 months. Paddy and I didn't even know where we were going to move yet. Then once we decided on Ontario, I knew Reno wouldn't make the cross country drive.
I was very much looking forward to seeing him at Christmas and I am sad now that I won't.

He was a great kitten. I got him when I first moved to Calgary and was a lonely, single esthetician. One of my clients had forced me to take him and I had never had a pet before. I remember the time when he was just tiny and I came home from work to him crying with a spool of thread going through him. A long string out his mouth with the spool and the open end out his bum. So Gross. What end do you pull that from??? LOL

Goodbye Reno. You were very loved, and I hope you forgive me for leaving you a year ago to find myself. Thank you for sticking through the rough years with me. I love you. RIP xoxo

Dear Windstorm:
For future reference, I would prefer for you to only come on nights my Paddy is home. I don't enjoy being the one who has to stay awake to see if our roof will blow off.

Dear Toledo Craft Fair:
Please let us make mucho money so I can buy some Christmas Gifts and paint my kitchen lime green.

Dear Regis Philbin:
I will miss you. I think your creapy funny. In that old man/grandpa kinda way.

Dear November:
You are a pointless month. You are in between too good months and I feel bad for you. I here by dub you my new Favorite Month. Love, Your Friend Messy

Dear Ontario:
It is super duper lame that Remembrance day is not a stat holiday here. You should follow the cool kids and give it to us off like the rest of the provinces.

Happy Thursday Y'all!

New Lot at the Shop

Good day all.

It is a balmy 19 degrees today here in Ontario Canada and I love it!!!
I finally got a new cell phone (lost mine in a leaf pile never to be found again) and I upgraded to a LG smart phone. I am pretty excited. Plus Wednesday's are my short day at work and all my classes are older kids so no tots to take care of! YAY!!! Good day all around! :)

I have some lovely new Christmas ornaments in our shop now and they are super cheap and cute!!!!

DIY ~ Budding Branch

I saw this idea on pinterest and had to do it for a small empty looking vase in our new walk in closet. It is the perfect final touch!!!

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
~ white paper {both sides}
~ something circular to trace
~ pen or pencil
~ hot glue gun
~ tree branch
~ vase

STEP 1: draw circles on the piece of paper using something to trace. {You could use a glass or a lid - I happen to have a circle stencil}

STEP 2: Cut out your circles.

STEP 3: Cut a coil through the circle like my picture. Sorry, I don't really know how to explain it. LOL

STEP 4: Using your fingers coil the pieces into balls of rolled paper or wrap around little buds on the branch.

STEP 5: Take your glue gun and stick them to your tree twigs.

This Is How I Cook: Puppies Treats

Happy Funday Sunday Peeps!!!

Today I am gonna share with you my supa dupa puppies treat recipe. I have tested and tried many many dog treat recipes, but this is the proven winner. It's his favorite, the freeze great, they last well in a sealed container and they are super fast and super easy. :)

I mashed a few recipes together to make this up kinda...LOL

You will need:

  • 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/2 cup canned pumpkin

  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • water

  • Preheat oven to 350F degrees. Mix together the flour, eggs, pumpkin, peanut butter, salt, and cinnamon in a large bowl. Add water as needed to help make the dough workable. Roll the dough out to be approx. 1/2 inch-thick. Using a knife or cookie cutters make small pieces. Bake until hard, about 40 minutes.

I would love to hear some feedback if anyone makes them!!!! :)

    DIY ~ Elbow Patches

    Hello!

Today I have a super easy and super fun DIY for you!!! I have been doing a crazy amount of DIY's lately!!
    Loves it!!!

I rarely ever buy brand name clothes (especially now that we live in a small town), but I do love my Lululemon sweatshirts. I have had this one since high school and my mom bought it for me. I was over the moon excited!!! hahahaha...That was a good 11 or so years ago...hahahaha.... Anyways, it has holes from my pointy elbows and it letting in a lot of cold air on my fall walks with Chuck. So...I made me some elbow patches!!!

    What you need:

    ~ Fabric you like
    ~ Scissors
    ~ Felt
    ~ Pen
~  Invisible Hem or something of that nature.

    Step 1: Using a guide, trace the shape you would like your patches to be onto your fabric and felt. Four in total, two of each. {I picked stars}

Step 2: Cut them out :)

Step 3:  Using an iron on the outside of the sleeve, melt the invisible hem in the corners of the fabric star {not the center where the hole is or else it will glue to your ironing board}.

Step 4: Reverse the sleeve and put the felt on the inside using lots of invisible hem or sewing glue.

Step 5: Iron! Iron! Iron! :)

Step 6: Wear your sick new hoodie all over town and get supa dupa compliments! Yeah!

    LOL

Miss. Travel McTravelson ~ Padova, Italy

I'm back again, with another travel post! YAY....

From Malcontenta we took the train down to a town called Padova. Padova is a city and comune in the Veneto, northern Italy. It is known for having one of the oldest Universities (University of Padova), which is almost 800 years old and famous, among other things, for having had Galileo Galilei among it professors.
this was the place where the game "Celebrity On A Bike" was created. LOL Basically we would take turns as pedestrians would bike by and we would have to yell out which celebrity they look like the most. Hahahaha...It was a beer induced game creation. And there are loads of people on bikes...like one every 2 minutes...LOL
Our friend at the restaurant told us to go there and
We ate a salad in the park and then got kicked out due to setup for the Padova Grand Prix Championships! LOL Not cars people...rollerblading!!!! hahahahaha...

It was the perfect little day trip! Beautiful buildings and the weather was amazing...couldn't have asked for a nicer day!

    Cheers,
