DIY ~ How to Plan an Egg Hunt!

Every year I plan a little egg hunt for my bestie Laurelle's kids.
I love doing it, but it is getting hard to think of new spots every year!
Here is the post from last year.

So, this is how you plan an awesome Easter Egg hunt.

YOU WILL NEED:
small chocolates or candy
plastic eggs
paper
pen
scissors
piece of paper to use as your answers

First start your list.
I usually do 5 clues...4 to find.
The kids are still pretty little.

First clue goes in an envelope that you give them from the Easter Bunny.
You can put a card or whatever in their, just make sure your first clue is int he envelope.

Ideas for clues:
In the recycle bin, road signs, decks, inside a board game.
Anywhere!
This year I used the recycle bin, the gate in the backyard, the new front deck, the neighbors front door and the finally prize is behind the TV!

The clue is meant to make them guess.
So, for the neighbors I wrote: "Are Albert and Mary home? Go knock on their front door!"

Write your hiding spots down numbered 1 -4 (or however many stops your doing)
Label your eggs with your numbers starting with 2 (Because clue one is in the envelope).

Put your clue and some treats in each plastic egg and close them.

Now, when you go out, refer to your list.
Place an egg at each spot.
Don't forget to put you big gift as the grand finale final spot! :)

Disney Vacation Part 2 ~ Magic Kingdom

The very first day I literally laid by the pool and did nothing.
So...not much to report there.

The second day Me, Carol, Katie, Patti, Emma and Wade all went to the Magic Kingdom.
It rained...I mean poured all morning, but it didn't stop us!

We looked around all the shops and booked it to Space Mountain for our first ride!!
Love that one!

Emma, Me and Katie going on our first ride of the day!

I am wearing shorts, you just can't tell under my poncho! LOL

Me, Emma & Wade with this White Cat Lady.
I am gonna guess she is from the Aristocrats?

Me and Carol getting up close and personal on the Rocket Ride!

We went to tonnes of cool shows and 3D movies!
I think this one was the Stitch one!

I made everyone try on silly hats and let them take pictures of them.
Of course I promised not to post them on facebook....LOL...I didn't say anything about my blog!

We all went on It's a Small World.
I have tonnes of photos and I'm gonna do a whole other post on it :)

 Goofin' off with Goofy!

We watched the fireworks and light show at night on the castle and even got to see some of the Electric Parade!

Great day!

DIY ~ Easter Flower Pick Cards

I have a lot of traditions I do with my friends on holidays.
Most of you know that I like to make little treats and secretly deliver them to their houses.
The last one I did was Valentine's Day and I posted about it here.

On Easter I like to give some of my close family type friends a plant.
Like tulips or daffodils.
This year I made these little pick cards to stick in the plants I got from the SPCA as on of their fundraisers!

YOU WILL NEED:
Plain colored or Easter themed paper
scissors
tape
pipe cleaners
toothpicks
pen

First draw out the shape you want and cut them out.
You could also use a punch if you want.
I made mine bunny heads :)

Cut them out.
Write your message on one side.

Take a pipe cleaner and wrap it around your finger to make a coil.
Flatten each end so you have something to attach the the paper shape.

Tape one tip of the pipe cleaner to the back of your shape.

Now tape a toothpick to the other end of the pipe cleaner so you have something to poke into the dirt!

This is How I Cook ~ Cinnamon Roll Croissants

Mmmm...I love cinnamon rolls.
And I love croissants.
So why not mix the two?

YOU NEED:
Pillsbury Croissant's
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp. cinnamon
butter or margarine

First lay your croissant's out flat on greased cookie sheets.

Spread a thin layer of butter or margarine onto the top of the dough.

Mix your brown sugar and cinnamon together and sprinkle over the butter.

Roll up your triangles into croissant's.

Bake as per the instructions on the Pillsbury package.

You can also make an easy icing my melting butter until it is boiling and dissolving a little sugar into it until it becomes think and runny.
:)

DIY ~ Men's Boxer Shorts

I decided to Make Tally some boxer shorts with some left over Beatles material I have.
I mean, I am trying to clean out and use all my supplies, so what better way to get rid of some fabric.
I made them much like the pajama pants I amde him before Christmas.

I used a pair of Tomas the Train boxers my Grandma gave him as a template!

First fold and place your fabric so the right sides are facing in.
Then place your template straight seams flat on the edge and trace it.

You need 4 pieces like this.

Sew your side seams together first so you now have two pieces.
Iron your seams flat.

Now pin and stitch the crotch area.
I like to sew it twice so it's double seamed and extra strong.

Now to your leg hole hems.
Lastly, iron your top waist down a half inch, then an inch and a 1/4.
Sew leaving a hole near the back to slip in your elastic.

Feed your elastic through the waist band using a safety pin to guide you.

Your done :)
