Restaurant Review ~ The Lazy Loon

Ok, I didn't eat but I did look at the elderly couples food and it looked amazeballs.
I went purely for a strawberry milkshake.
I had heard from my friend Karen that they had the best in town.

The Lazy Loon is a new "chip wagon" here in town. (Brockville, Ontario)
It arrived two weekends ago when we had our big Tall Ships Celebration.

One of the owners is from a Pub here in town and he runs a great ship, so it's worth a try in my books!
Here's the menu:

My strawberry milkshake was perfect.
Just that right blend of creamy and thick.
It was even made with real strawberries! :)

They are located in a parking lot off Wall Street.
They have built themselves a little patio/deck area that looks over the river!
Very pretty!
I hope they get some chairs out there...hint hint!

Basically it's a big trailer filled with great customer service, big meals and strawberry milkshakes to die for.
Next up - I'm tryin' me a Broad Street Bully!

Double fistin' - I'm a class act!

DIY ~ Braided Lace Bracelet

I love braided bracelets!
I found these beautiful silver ends and I have had this HUGE spool of lace edging forever.
So....I thought I'd make myself something purdy.

WHAT YOU NEED:
jump rings x2
closing clasp
lace (three pieces)
clenchers with a loop (dont know the real name sorry!)
end beads
safety pin
pliers
scissors

First cut three equal strands of ribbon/lace.
Twist the top ends together tight and clasp with your pliers and one of those clencher loop thingy's.

Now thread that through your end bead.

On the loops of the clencher piece you pulled through add a jump ring.

Using a safety pin attach it to your jeans and start braiding!

Finish the end by putting a clencher on, threading it through the end bead and adding a jump ring.

DIY ~ Magnet Frames

I've had these little metal frames in my stash for years, but they are too heavy to put on cards!
Then I had this brainy idea :)

WHAT YOU NEED:
mini metal frames
strip magnet with sticky back
scissors

This is super easy.

All you do is put two strips of magnet on the back of each frame.
Press down firmly to make sure it adheres well.

It's just that simple!
LOL

DIY ~ Dandelion Puff Painted Mirrors

I have had these mirrors forever and didn't think I could do much with them since I only had two.
Then I realized I shouldn't be so structured...I could do a set of something instead of a trio.
LOL LOL

Sticking to my usual artistry...

WHAT YOU NEED:
two square Ikea mirrors
light green, dark green, white and brown acrylic paint
mini paintbrush
dry flat and fat paint brush

Unwrap your mirrors and place them side by side in front of you.
Make sure they are perfectly lined up so your artwork works at the end.

Paint two slightly rounded lines from the bottom left corner using light green.
These are the stems.
Let dry a minute.
Using dark green do a line on one side of the stem.
Using white make a line down the center of the stem.

Using your small paint brush start fanning out small strokes in a circle to create your puff at the top of each stem.
Use the dry bigger brush at the edges to make them more transparent and fluffy looking.
Add more white to the center area if needed.
Also add a small amount of brown for the center.
Work it into the white.

Paint white lines, some a big curved in all directions.
All different sizes, lengths and widths.

Hang side by side :)

PL Peek ~ Lemon Lane Point

There's this lil' place you can go and drink milkshakes called Lemon Lane.
It's pretty sweet.
I stopped in there the other day when I was down that way and took some photos :)

DIY ~ Nautical Button Bracelet

I adore these anchor buttons I have and I really wanted a cool bracelet to go with my new full arm bracelet sleeve thing I'm doing. LOL

WHAT YOU NEED:
Nautical Button with a back loop (not holes)
leather rope
safety pin
baking twine (optional)

First take 3 strands of your leather rope and 2 strands of backing twine.
Knot at one end.
Attach it to your knee (of your pants) with your safety pin.
Braid together putting the bakers twine with one of the strands.
Half way down put your button on...then keep braiding to your desired length.

You can add a clasp if you want, but I just tied mine on with the rest :)
