DIY ~ Magazine Coasters

DON'T FORGET ABOUT MY BIRTHDAY GIVEAWAY ON THIS WEEK!
CLICK HERE TO ENTER VIA RAFFLECOPTER

I got this fab tutorial from the How About Orange blog and loved it!!!

YOU WILL NEED:
magazines
scissors
hot glue gun

First cut out 6 pages from your magazine with colors you like.

Cut each page in half.
Fold each half in half long ways.

Once in half, fold each end in so you have a long flat tube.

Then fold those in half so you have a shorter piece with on folded edge in the center.
Hook those two together and start weaving.
Keep adding parts like that weaving in and out.

Tuck your ends in and glue it shut.

It is very tricky to keep them all even and tight, but if you can get it they turn out super cool!

Messy

DIY ~ Knitters Earrings

Even though I'm not a knitter, I have seen some of these earrings in Etsy stores and had to try and make them!

WHAT YOU NEED:
yarn
sewing pins with metal ends
hot glue gun
earring hooks
pliers

First tie a thick knot in the end of your yarn.
Wrap a small ball until it is as big as you want it.

Using your hot glue gun, stick the end down so your ball wont unravel.

Stick your pins in so they are crossed and clip the ends with your pliers so they don't poke you!

Now hook your earring hook into the yarn and dab with a spot of glue.

Aren't they adorbs???

Here's Liz doin' the model thing...

This Is How I Cook ~ I Heart You Birthday Cupcakes

It was my lovely friend Ali's birthday last week so I made her some special Birthday cupcakes.
I just used a box cake, but it was the decorating that really made them pop! LOL

First make your cupcakes according to the box directions.
I chose chocolate devil's food cake and buttercream frosting.

I bought this cute little decorating kit from the Dollarama in Kempville :)

It came with cupcake toothpicks and a whole bunch of cool paper liners.

Once your cupcakes are finished baking and have cooled, you can ice them.
I used my piping tube to make swirled icing on top!

I added my toppers and was finished!

Ali loved them, and we got to share them with her lovely ladies that night!

Happy Birthday again A!
Love ya girl!

DIY ~ Flower Hair Clip

I love putting funny little things in my hair for dance.
I especially love hair bows and scruchies :)
But the other day I was looking for something in the orange tonnes to go with a particular outfit and I realized I didn't have anything!

YOU WILL NEED:
a hair clip with a medium sized flat edge
glue gun
fake flowers

First sort out how you would like your flowers to sit on your clip.
Now slowly glue each flower in place.

Once glue is dry, test it out in your hair :)

I wonder what the kidlets at dance will think...

DIY ~ Pearl Bobby's

I found these super cute colorful bobby pins at the Dollar Store and thought I should boost their cool appeal a little :)

I have seen these pearl bobby's on Pinterest before, but not with colorful pins!

WHAT YOU NEED:
bobby pins
pearl beads
glue gun
small piece of cardboard

First spread  out your bobby pins on your cardboard so they have some space.

Take a pearl and put a spot of hot glue on it.

Place the pearl on the tip of the bobby pin.

Let dry.

That's it...

It's just that easy! ;)

DIY ~ Bobby Pin Earrings

I made these Bobby Pin earrings at Christmas time, but these new updated one's are much easier!!!

YOU WILL NEED:
colorful booby pins
super thin wire
pliers
earring hooks
mod podge
glitter
small piece of cardboard

First sort out the color pattern you would like to do with your bobby's.
I suggest 4 - 6 pins so that there isn't too many and they stay aligned.

Place them on your cardboard as tight together as you can.

Using mod podge make the design you wish and cover in glitter.

Once the mod podge is completely dry you can continue.

Take a small piece of your wire approx. 1.5 inches long.

Fish it through the loop of the booby's and twist at the top like a twist tie.
Add your earring hook to the top wrapping the remaining wire around it tightly.
Press with your pliers to secure the ends tight.

Push your bobby pins off the cardboard and admire your hand work :)

Love mine!
I have two sets in my shop up for sale right now!!!
