Outfit Post ~ Bird Fetish

I have been obsessed with birds.
First little Bird's birthday (check it out here),
then I bought a put up a new bird feeder,
then my little bird family's eggs hatched in the hole in the side of the cottage,
and now a bird shirt!
Amazeballs.

This is what I wore to the J's tonite...

I love everything about this top.
It's soft and lightweight,
not to skimpy but still cute :)
The birds are the best part - clearly!

This is my new outfit post area...LOL
Needs some serious work.
Especially better light! LOL

Happy long weekend to all my Canadian Friends :)

PL Peek: Tea Time!

When I went to meet my bestie in Ottawa for our birthday weekend extravaganza we did something I hadn't done before!

We went for High Tea at the Chateau Laurier!!!

It was so amazing and definately the highlight of the weekend for me!
(Other than being with my bestie)

We got to pick from laods of different types of loose leaf tea...

and then we picked one of each of the tiers.
One Traditional, and one Classic.

{hmmm...what to eat first?!?}

Everything was so tasty...
my favorite was the scones and real creme and jam :)

Before our big tiers came, they served us fresh strawberries! Yum :)

It was very relaxing and a great way to enjoy our afternoon.
I quite enjoyed myself!

DIY ~ Best Cape Ever

I quite possibly am the coolest Aunt ever.
I said it.
I made the coolest cape ever for my nephew Logan.
It just so happens that his initials spell L.A.W.

WHAT YOU NEED:
- Large piece of red fabric (mine is recycled from an old ugly skirt.)
- scissors
- pins
- iron
- felt
- sewing machine

Lay your fabric out and cut the size you want (I did two feet for Logan and he is a small two year old). Also cut a long strip approximately 25 - 30 inches, that is 3 1/2 inches wide for the collar strap/tie.
Fold fabric in half and cut a triangle shape with a rounded bottom (I was making two capes at once, you only need one of these shapes)

Iron up a hem on all the edges except where the neck tie will go.
Iron you long tie piece in half and sew straight down without closing the ends.
Flip the tube inside out and iron seam flat.
Sew the neck tie on by putting both pieces raw edges together and stitching. I went over mine with a zig zag stitch so it would be extra secure and last for years!

Glad he loves it!

Miss Travel McTravelson ~ Paris, France

Ahhhhh....the very last stop on my 2 month long European Adventure.
What a fabulous way to end a trip.
It was everything I hoped for and everything I expected.
It was fancy and posh and had tonnes of fab restaurants.
Seating was tight and quaint, yet no one seemed to notice.
Long baguette sandwiches and fine loose leaf tea.
Artists of all sorts perfecting their craft on the streets, tourists taking photos everywhere.
I was smart and I went to the Eiffel Tower at the perfect time.
I got to see it in daylight, then I sat around and watched the light turns on and it was nighttime. :)
Magical.

I walked everywhere and saw everything.
The Louvre, Moulin Rouge, Notre Dame...
Needless to say...
Je' adore.

Miss Travel McTravelson ~ Monaco

While I was in Nice, I took the train to Monaco for a day trip.

I have always wanted to go to Monte Carlo and I was so pumped.
It was cold and rainy when I went, plus no one had mentioned nothing is open on Sundays in Monaco.

But I still treked around they were getting ready for their huge boat show in the harbor, had a late brunch and hung around the castle to see if the Prince was around, bored and wanted to go for tea.
He clearly wasn't in the mood, cause he didn't seem to venture out that day. LOL

The train station is at the top of this huge hill and there are tonnes of over and underpasses to get down.
This includes pedestrian walkways...

it was actually quite confusing and hard to get down.

But, I made it finally...

Isn't this statue cool? The tree.shrub behind it is growing in the same direction!

Just hanging out, practicing my curtsies, waiting for the man himself.
That's his castle up there you know. LOL

I thought this beach was very confusing.
All hard, sharp rocks, then a small square patch of imported yellow sand.
Weird.

It was a fab day...just wish a little more was going on that day!
