DIY ~ Picture Frame Pin Cushion

This is a super cute, super easy DIY for you.
I had these cheap mini filigree frames that I didn't know what to do with.
I think I bought them at Michael's in the $1.50 bin!

First take the back off your frame and push out the plastic part.

Cut a small piece of fabric that will fit the frame hole and have some hanging over as well.
I used a leftover scrap from this Heart Dress I made!

Lay your fabric in the frame and stuff with cotton balls.
Close the back and glue gun shut.

Cute eh?!?
This one is for sale in my shop here!!!

DIY & A Little Love to You

Happy
Valentine's
Day!

To all the lovebirds in the world, hope you have a wonderful day!

Here's a super cute Fortune Cookie DIY!
You probably have all the things you need just laying around your home.
Felt, paper, hot glue gun, pipe cleaners, candies :)

First trace circles on your felt using a mug as a guide.
I used red, pink and burgundy felt.

Cut a pipe cleaner so you have a piece the size of the width of the circle.
Hot glue gun it onto your circle felt right across the center.

Write up some lovey sayings on small pieces of paper to tuck into each fortune cookie!

I picked cinnamon hearts and smarties to put inside my fortune cookies.

Fold your circle in half and glue the outside rim with all your goodies inside.

Once your glue is set, bend your little half circles in the center...this creates a fortune cookie!!!

Hope you all have a LOVELY day!

Cheers,
Messy

This Is How I Cook ~ Valentine's Rice Crispie Bites

I decided to make these delicious morsels of goodness for my friends this year.
As most of you know, I like to make lil' gifts to put on their doorsteps for Holidays
...they are usually from Chuck Norris!

First make Rice Krispie Squares as per usual.
If you don't know how the inside of the box always has the recipe.

When you go to put them in a pan, spread them thin so it's only about an inch and a half thick.

Once cooled, use a heart cookie cutter, cut out shapes.

Melt white chocolate discs in the microwave on 15 second intervals, stirring in between.

Dip one edge of each heart into your chocolate.
Sprinkle with confetti!

So cute!
I'll share my VDay gifts to my friends in a later post!

Cheers,

DIY ~ Valentine's Coupon Book

I made this adorbs coupon book for Tally for V-Day.
I'm not a huge Valentine's celebrater...but I thought I would make him something kinda cheeseball.

First take a piece of cardstock and cut it 2.5 inches wide and about 8 inches long.
Cut 3 pieces of plain white regular paper 2 inches wide and 7.5 inches long.

Fold your cardstock and the regular paper strips in half to make a book.

Hole punch two holes in the folded side and fish a piece of string through it.
I tied a bow on mine.

Now using colored markers make a coupon on each page!

Decorate your front cover and your finito!

Craft Day!!!

A few weeks ago my friend Ali invited me over for a craft day with some of her girlies!
We had so much fun making these adorable crayon heart hangydoos!

 Here's Ali craftin' away! :)))
Side-kick and all!

First start with a large piece of wax paper and two pieces of string that are extra long!

Using a knife, grater or pencil sharpener and make shavings of Crayola crayons.
I used pink, white, burgundy and red mixed.

Place another piece of wax paper over like a sandwich with the string and shavings.

Using the tip of your iron on medium heat, lightly circle around the wax paper.
You will very quickly notice the crayons melting a spreading.

Using a pen draw hearts around the string in a  vertical row.

Cut out the hearts making sure not to cut the string!!!

Tie your two sets together!
Voila!

I had a lot of fun with the girls!
This is what our table looked like by the end! Hahahahahaha!

Thanks Ali for inviting me!!!
Hope we can do it again sometime :)

DIY ~ LOVELY T-Shirt Dress

I am soooooo pumped about the way this dress turned out!
I have wanted to make myself some sort of dress, romper, tunic type thing with it but was too scared I wouldn't be able to do it!
But I did!
And it fits!
And looks great!
I even wore it on a date night with Tally :)

First take a top you love, fold it in half and trace it onto a folded newspaper or tissue.
I extended the length of my tshirt so mine would be more like a dress or tunic.

Cut it out leaving an extra inch all the way around for seam allowences.
Now you have a pattern for free :)

Pin your pattern onto your fabric, double thickness.
Cut out with pinking sheers.

Now you have two pieces.
Sew down each side  and the top of the shoulders leaving the arm holes and neck open.
Iron your seams.

Fold your front piece in half and cut a vneck so that the point in an inch ABOVE where the bottom of your armpits land.

Fold and iron your neck and sleeve seams and pin in place.
Sew all around.
Do your hem as well.

 Done and done! :)

Super cute eh?
